Soon after its official founding in 2006, the SVBC began to issue a biannual newsletter published digitally and distributed via email to members and friends. The pioneer editor, Dave Woolley, was backed up by Julie Girard who did the layout and computer work. Together they put together the first 6 issues of the newsletter (Volumes 1, 2 and 3), and established a high standard for reporting that captured the fun as well as seriousness of the Club’s activities, well illustrated with photos. The next four issues—Volumes 4 and 5—were edited by Harry Hull, Dave’s successor, who also managed the layout. As Harry’s tenure as editor came to a close, the Club decided to create this website as a better way to communicate not only with members but with the internet community at large.
All five Volumes of the newsletter—10 issues in all—are accessible below, the most recent to the oldest, and can even be downloaded to your computer. Note: some features of the last couple of issues, like bird sounds and video content, can only be accessed if you first download the issue to your computer.
